I recall that I may have recommended "The Lemon Tree" a while back. The book does not give any solution to the problem and it is heart wrenching to see each side struggling to understand the other. Definitely worth your time.

I would also recommend "The Other Side of Israel" by Susan Nathan.

I have just read the NYT obit for Habash. While I know that many (though not I) mistrust anything the Times has to say about the IP conflict, the obit doesn't note at all that Habash turned against violence or that he disapproved of airline hijackings or acts of revolutionary violence.

So unless the Angry Arab can produce any clear, documentary evidence of this I'm a pronounced skeptic.
