The Daniel Pearl Foundation promotes "cross-cultural understanding through journalism, music, and innovative communications", a truly Dovish mission. Daniel Pearl, the journalist killed in Pakistan by extremists, is the son of a man who decided to turn his heartbreak into healing.
Dr. Judea Pearl said "he had lost a son but he wanted to fight the hatred that killed him and this could only be done through understanding. He said Daniel believed in such a dialogue and loved to talk to all, regardless of their religious leaning."
A Pakistani born professor toured with Dr. Pearl, modelling inter-faith dialogue and calling for greater knowledge and understanding beteween Jews, Muslims and Christians.
At a time when mainstream journalists and academics rant about the "clash of civilizations", these efforts at inter-faith dialogue and reconciliation are crucial.
