Thank you for the link and the quote. I continue to be moved and heartened by how many people clearly live in the America I love, and cherish the same values I hold dear.

I recorded a modified version of that blog post for my local NPR affiliate this morning; it will air on Thursday. I find that the more I speak of my sadness, the less a burden the sadness becomes, maybe because others come and join me in my mourning and I realize I am not alone.

You said in your post it's like sitting shiva - seems a very apt metaphor. We're all comforting each other in our grief.
