My father's condition is worsening. He is comfortable but heavily medicated. His hope is to travel to Lebanon to die and we are exploring this possibility; his condition may not warrant travel under any circumstances.
People are still commenting on the Islam posts below. Some of these comments are just mean-spirited and ugly. Those of you who have already made such comments are not being banned, but please note that I won't read what you have to say. If you cannot speak in the spirit of Jesus, in the spirit of Mohammed, in the spirit of the Jewish prophets who exhort us to love one another and be kind, then I won't shut you up but I won't bother to listen.
I may post here and there in the coming days. I may comment. But I may not. I have other things to do.
Your prayers and good wishes will be much appreciated. If I know you, I will read your messages.
Love to all.
All the best to you and your father. You'll both be in my thoughts.

Please know that you and your father are in my thoughts and prayers. I wish you both strength, and the comfort of the divine Presence, as you make your way through the journey ahead.

In as much as distances and these limited electronic links allow, we're with you and your father; I hope the doctors respect his instincts above all, if his wish is to return to Lebanon: there is no substituting even medical necessity (a temporary breach against the inevitable anyway) with the heart's desire to be in one's true home in the end. Allah maakon Laila.

As I go into the Jewish New Year and begin the 'days of awe' I will have your father and your family in my thoughts and prayers. I hope your father is able to realize his last dream to die in his beautiful homeland.
God bless, Lennybruce

thank you, Lenny, Ron, Rachel, Pierre, Stephen. I appreciate your good wishes.
Dad's relatives are gathering and we're just glad they are all here. He is happy/sad to see them - he loves seeing them but the circumstances break his heart. (and ours).
