hehe you are an oscar wilde cynical woman :)

One of the things that disappoints me about my "Christian" brethren is their distorted view of Jesus. If we are going to claim the name of Christ, wouldn't it make sense to get to know and understand who he is and what he said.

Jesus has had an incredible impact on the world. When we Christians focus on him, and not on ourselves and our own pet initiatives and desires, we too can have an incredible impact for good in the world.

In Philippians, Paul tells us to have the same attitude that Jesus had. What was that attitude? Humility. Humility which led to humble sacrifice.

Philippians 2:1-9
Imitating Christ's Humility
"If you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any fellowship with the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and purpose. Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others.

Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus:

Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness.

And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient to death — even death on a cross!

Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name...

Thank you, Nancy, for dropping by, and thank you, cousin Randy for your heartfelt witness.

Merry Christmas everybody.

"That's enough to get him kicked off of a commercial airline flight in the USA."

I was just reading a blog called Dysdemona & a post title got me to thinking what it would be like for Mary & Joseph if she gave birth to Jesus in a West Bank village today. God forbid they should need to find a hospital. Imagine the checkpoints. Imagine the interminable, capricious waits. Imagine the poor baby Jesus freezing to death in the midnight cold while an Israeli soldier diddles w. their lives.

Poor Mary. Poor Joseph. Poor Palestine. Poor Israel.

Yeah, you're right.
Jesus was jewish.
