I turned in a twenty-three page English paper today for my Shakespeare class (oh it was something about Turks and the Tempest, I read Nabil Matar, Jonathan Burton, Jerry Brotton, Daniel Vitkus).
Now I am really done and the rest of my life begins. I celebrated with my family by going out to Fountain Garden Chinese restaurant in the neighborhood (where I ordered a Tsing Tao). There will be graduation events later in the week. Tonight I began reading Juan Rulfo's book Pedro Paramo. Now I can read again, with no guilt or fear of unfinished classwork hanging over me.
Insomnia however. That's why I'm online. I really want to go to bed earlier and quit surfing the internet late at night. Tonight I did everything - in bed, lights out, no computer beforehand. When i couldn't sleep, i drank a glass of milk. Nope. Took two Benadryl. Nope.
It's just too exciting and nerve-racking. I have a novel in the works and it's time to turn back to it after the frenzy of the last weeks of school. Is this what's keeping me awake?
Good night...
Congrats! That's quite an achievement. Looking forward to someday reading your novel.
