Very beautiful post.
It is the first time I read your blog, and I felt every word in this post.
I am from South Lebanon as well, not too far from miyeh w miyeh and currently in the US.
you reminded me of what my mom used to do and tried so hard to create for us "a peaceful place" even if it is sometimes just in our hearts during the recurent cycles of war and bombings.
